This blog is written for advocates, social justice activists, survivors, and loved ones and support
persons of survivors. As a sexual assault and domestic violence victim advocate, it is my intent to
discuss the systemic impact of sexual assault and domestic violence on individuals, relationships, and
families. My hope is to address common misconceptions about relationship violence, raise awareness
about trauma-informed care, and promote healthy relationship attitudes that contribute to safer
communities. In this blog, I will also be sharing crisis intervention strategies, bystander intervention
techniques, and ways that you can care for others, as well as care for yourself. It is my hope that these
tips will help survivors and support persons in understanding and overcoming their trauma, as well as
inform the public about social justice and the mechanisms of relationship and/or family violence.
